Why is Live Art a Unique Value Add?

Leave an Impression on Your Guests and Clients

These days we all have a new appreciation for the value of in-person human gatherings. We want those occasions to be extra special and memorable.

Anyone in the business of attracting crowds and putting on live events needs to think outside the box. You’ve got to provide a “wow” factor to exceed the high expectations of clients and guests.

This is a challenge faced by event planners, business owners, marketers, and more.

Original Art to Immortalize Your Experience

That’s where live painting comes in. It’s a unique form of visual entertainment that keeps spectators engaged and leaves a memorable impression on them.

Here’s how it works, it’s pretty simple: Matt shows up with a blank canvas and creates an original painting that captures the spirit of event. Meanwhile, spectators are treated to an inside look at the creative process and get to converse with the artist at work.

Matt is especially known for painting at sports, music, and social events.

  • Private and community events

  • Corporate parties

  • And more!

  • Concerts and music festivals

  • Live band portraits

  • Sports stadium

Mesmerizing Visual Entertainment

Have you ever found yourself mesmerized while watching online videos of Bob Ross painting landscapes?

Well, just imagine how impactful it is to see an artist create a painting in real life!

Matt paints with lots of energy on a large canvas, creating a visual spectacle for those in attendance. The painting itself is built up with an impressionistic technique and vibrant colors — a striking contrast to the blank canvas that he started with.

It’s not every day that you get to see a painting come to life from nothing, while also interacting with the artist as he works.

This is a great way to differentiate your event from the ones that your competitors are putting on.

Just think: All of your guests and clients will remember their experience and associate it with culture and creativity!

More Meaningful Than a Photo

The final product is a one-of-a-kind keepsake to immortalize your memory of the special occasion.

Hang it up in your living, working, or entertainment space. No matter where you display your one-of-a-kind painting, it will make for a great conversation starter and a lifetime of opportunities to share the story behind it.

You’re Working with a Seasoned Pro

Live painting is high-pressure work. It’s mentally demanding for any artist to complete a large painting from scratch in front of spectators. Sometimes the painting must be completed in poor lighting. And sometimes there is weather or wind or some other unexpected variable.

This means you want a live painter who has tons of experience and has seen it all. You want someone who can stay calm and confident while doing this kind of work.

Matt has created hundreds of live paintings over nearly a decade. He developed his live painting skills in challenging conditions: painting live bands, bar scenes, and psychedelic portraits in dark crowded nightclubs.

He has since taken his act to other types of venues and events across the United States: NCAA stadiums, Ironman triathlons, music festivals, beach parties, corporate events, and more.

Matt is a seasoned veteran, ready to paint for you when and where it matters.

Live Painting F.A.Q.

  • It’s simple: Matt shows up to your special event with a blank canvas and completes an original painting from start to finish.

Meanwhile, you and your guests are treated to a unique visual experience as you witness the creative process unfold. At the end of the event, the experience and the memory has been immortalized in the form of original art.

  • Usually, the live painting is a depiction of the event itself, capturing particular individuals and identifiable aspects of the venue. For example:

    — Live depictions from Ironman and marathon race courses

    — Sports events and stadium scenes

    — Live band portraits

    — Nightlife scenes, bar and venue interiors

    — Music festival and concert venue scenes

    — Private and corporate parties

There are lots of other events and venues where Matt’s style of live art would be a great value add.

  • Matt typically does paintings that are in the neighborhood of 24”x36”. Often he goes larger but usually will not paint on smaller canvases.

Typically, these paintings take between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the situation and duration of the event. Band portraits usually last for the length of the band’s set, often with extra time painting before or after.

Occasionally Matt will need to take a live painting back to his studio for more work after a live session to ensure that the final product is something that he is truly proud of.

  • Matt uses acrylic paint, which is water-soluble, odorless, and non-toxic.

Acrylic paint dries very quickly, which means that painting can be safely taken home after the event.

  • Currently he is prioritizing jobs in Panama City Beach and surrounding areas of the Emerald Coast.

Matt is open to travelling for some jobs but extra fees apply.

  • Matt loves to socialize, talk about his creative process, and answer any questions that guests have about himself and his work.

  • Matt began his live painting career in Denver nightclubs. He developed his skills by painting live band portraits and doing on-stage art performances at local shows.

Matt also has lots of experience painting at live sports events. He has been seen painting at NCAA basketball and baseball games, as well as semi-pro soccer games. Additionally, for several years Matt has been traveling to Ironman triathlons to do live paintings on the racecourse. Hundreds of triathletes across the United States hang Matt’s art to celebrate their amazing accomplishment of finishing an Ironman.

During the coronavirus era Matt dabbled in live painting over Zoom, but recently Matt is back in action on the Emerald Coast of Florida.

Overall, Matt has completed hundreds of live paintings over nearly a decade, most of them at sports, music, and social events.
